This book is a dialogue between photographs taken in Jaffa in the 1980s and a story that caries on until today, set in the courtyard of the Old City of Jerusalem.
Various identities pass each other, in a text in which the narrator follows the footsteps of a man hunted by this locality to the point of loosing himself. So we discover that becoming someone is to be devastated by History, and that perhaps we are able to find ourselves only by crossing the dangerous passage between the self and the others.
The voices of intimacy and of collective condition mix to create a sound that echoes on the words and images of this book in which Jaffa, despite its renown past now in ruins, still speaks with strength and poetry of the man of today.
